Diablo Magazine amazes me with their unceasing discoveries of the East Bay’s most interesting people and places. The February issue introduced me to mouthwatering BBQ from Pig in a Pickle (mmm…that smoked chicken with Alabama White Sauce!), hand crafted bitters from Batch & Brine and Maya Enista Smith modeling kindness in action through the Born This Way Foundation. It’s easy to see why these local folks have earned the attention.

Thanks to Diablo Magazine for another opportunity to connect with my community through photography!

Editorial Feature | Visitor Guide - Visit Tri-Valley

A few months back I was commissioned by Diablo Custom Publishing to create images for an annual publication, the Visitor Guide for Visit Tri-Valley. Having lived in the Tri-Valley for my first three years in the Bay Area, I enjoyed the opportunity to return and get to know local brewers, winemakers, and the talented team behind Visit Tri-Valley. I’ve shared a few tearsheets and outtakes below but encourage you to check out the entire guide for more inspiration!

One of the many perks of working with a local lifestyle magazine, specifically Diablo Magazine, is getting a sneak peek of up-and-coming local businesses. This month’s issue introduced me to Shadowbrook Winery — “the first winery and tasting room to open in Walnut Creek since Prohibition”. I’m already dying to reserve a tasting overlooking beautiful Mt. Diablo! Also in the October issue is a portrait of Editorial Director, Deborah Kirk, sipping something tasty at another Walnut Creek business (one of my go-to’s) Coffee Shop.

Check out the current issue and, if you haven’t already, stop by these Walnut Creek businesses for wonderful food and drink experiences in my neck of the woods.

The July issue of Diablo Magazine was full of exciting assignments, including the magazine's annual 'Best of the East Bay'! Congratulations to the Bedford Gallery, Empire Barbershop, Funkmode, Performing Academy, The Last Word, and the many other local businesses featured!
